Inspired by the style of the French club chair

this comfortable chair features overstuffed arms and hand-tied coil springs throughout that give the chair a soft, supportive feel. To build our version of the French club chair, we used upholstery techniques that pre-date the introduction of foam in the mid-20th century. The stitched arm faces and open back create interest as they highlight traditional hand work.

Pillow Top Ottoman

Swedish author and illustrator Maj Lindman’s children’s book 

 (1937) inspired this wing chair’s simple shape. The Nordic Wing Chair features exposed traditional padding and stitching accompanied by a seasonal slipcover for the winter months.

-Trimmed with “blued” upholsterer’s tacks

-Optional wool slipcover for winter months with leather tab closure and leather carrier for storage

Nordic Wing Chair

Our round stool is traditionally upholstered, padded with coir fiber, and hand-stitched through harness leather. The elegant wood frame complements the stark simplicity of the exposed traditional upholstery stitching.

The Plains chair is grounded, sturdy and reserved.

-Harness leather or felt slung back hand sewn through frame

-Seat is traditionally padded with seagrass; edges are hand stitched

-Hand tied coil springs in seat with exposed webbing underside

-Shown in flat waxed Maharam leather and white oak

Stitched Bench

Our interpretation of a ladder back chair. Hang a hat or a bag over the post. Drape a scarf or your favorite pair of denim over a rung. Place your watch, wallet, and keys in the drawer under the seat.

Ladder Back Valet Chair

A study in building a stable and useable traditional stitched pad that is not covered in fabric. Using thick harness leather allows the stitching patterns to remain visible and create design within function.
